NROSH will be a property database containing a record of each individual unit of social housing in England. It will provide neighbourhood level information for the whole country which will be accessible by central, regional and local governments, registered social landlords and other interested parties, and will reduce the burden of reporting on housing providers.

NROSH Availability

The NROSH system will be available in the autumn of 2005 to all landlords for uploading data to the national database.

RSR Submissions

The Housing Corporation will be piloting and testing the derivation of RSR data from NROSH in preparation for the 2006 submissions.

CORE & NROSH

The ultimate aim is also to link CORE to NROSH so that the property related questions in CORE can be filled from NROSH instead. This means that once landlords are providing valid NROSH data a third of the CORE log will no longer need to be completed.

National Land and Property Gazetteer

The CORE and NROSH databases will be linked using the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN).

Capita

Capita Software Services announced a number of new features to its Academy housing software suite in order to address recent ODPM NROSH initiatives.
